The Bag to Beat

The market for “high-end” disc golf bags continues to grow, as does the sport. Brands like Squatch, GRIPeq, and Pound are more than happy to offer bags in the upper $200s and more. For those willing to spend that much, I am here to tell you that GRIPeq’s BX3 Series is a great option.

Features:

Where the Discs Go:

GRIPeq’s description says the bag will fit up to 18 discs in the main compartment. In my experience, it is more comfortable fitting around 12 - 14 if you have several mid-range discs mixed in. While I don't doubt 18 is possible, it would be a squeeze. As for the putter pocket, my words not theirs, you can easily fit 2 - 3 putters up top. Inside the main compartment, there is a nice adjustable strap to help the putters stick out to your liking—great easy access to your most used discs.

But where do I put my keys?:

On either side of the bag, there are expandable pockets. These are the ideal spaces for bug spray, sunscreen, a mini, and maybe even a pullover. But that still doesn't answer our question about my keys. Between the main compartment and the putters, there is a perfect spot for all that dead weight in your shorts pockets. This pocket is the ideal place for items you want to keep more secure and separate from all the junk in the side pockets. As for water, there are holders on either side that can comfortably fit large water bottles. The makers of this bag had practicality in mind in its creation and you will find plenty of storage for the essentials.

Quality:

I have had this bag for nearly three years and it shows no signs of wear. The straps are comfortable and the stitching is strong. The same goes for the zippers. Normal and frequent use with this bag has shown no indication that it will need replacing anything soon. On the base of the bag, plastic footings keep it stable on the ground and protect the material from anything you might be setting it on. It’s nice to know that quality comes with what you pay for this bag.

TLDR:

The GRIPeq BX3 is a leader in the “high-end” bag market. This bag fits plenty of discs, has optimal storage, and unmatched quality without feeling super heavy. For anyone looking to upgrade and buy a bag that will last you years, this is one of the best bags for the job.
